ABOUT LUNAR RENDEZBREW

Lunar Rendezbrew is an AHA approved homebrew competition and one of the premier competitions of the Lonestar Circuit.  Lunar Rendezbrew is a competition showcasing the best homebrew and craft beers in Texas!  BJCP 2021 guidelines will be used for this competition, and category groupings may be combined based on the number of entries (at the discretion of the BAM officers and the head judge) with a minimum category limit of 6 entries to qualify on the Lone Star Circuit.

This year we will only be accepting and judging entries for beer.  There will be no mead or cider.

Registration begins on July 26th, 2025.  The dropdown menu at the top of the page has a link for registering and submitting entries after that date.  Registration closes on August 20th and all entries must be received by that date.  We anticipate an early sell out, so the extra registration time allows brewers to edit their entries until the drop off date closes.  Sitta Brew Hub is our club shipping location and primary Houston drop off location.

Entry fees for Lunar Rendezbrew 29 will be $12.00 this year.  There will be a total entry cap of 550 paid entries.  The number of beers that an individual brewer may enter will be capped at 8 paid entries, but we anticipate a staggered entry period to allow all interested brewers and opportunity to enter.  For beers entered as a team or with co-brewers, the max brewer entry count applies to any entry you are named on, so please plan accordingly.  There will be a limit per brewer of 1 entry per style (subcategory).  We kindly ask participants to be honorable an limit themselves to 2 entries per category.

Three bottles will be required for entry in this competition for Best of Show consideration.  Two bottles must be received to be eligible for a medal.  We highly recommend sending three bottles just in case something were to happen to one of your bottles during shipping/delivery.

SCALE UP OPPORTUNITIES

RAFFLE

There will be a raffle at the Lunar Rendezbrew festival.  If you are interested in donating an item to the raffle, please reach out to officers@mashtronauts.com with your contact information and what is being donated.

AWARDS CEREMONY

Lunar Rendezbrew will host an awards ceremony festival on October 18th, 2025 from 2:00 pm – 6:00 pm CST.  This will be a private event awards festival with beer, games, silent auction, more beer, food, and some awesome awards taking place at the the Pearland Lions Club located at 3350 S Main St, Pearland, TX 77581.  The awards portion of the event will be broadcast live on the Mashtronauts YouTube channel that you can find at YouTube.com/BayAreaMashtronauts.  Please make sure you are subscribed to our channel and notified of updates to make sure you don’t miss the big event.  Awards should be announced at 4:00 pm CST.  Due to legal requirements, this is a members only event.  But don’t worry, you will be able to purchase a temporary club membership that allows you to attend this event!  We will be limiting attendance to 150 ticket holders.  So when tickets go on sale September 1st, but them so you don’t get left watching online.

Medals will be provided to the top three entries in each medal group.  The best of show winner will receive a space themed stein!  Co-brewers may also be provided their own medal (up to 1 additional medal per entry, based on availability).  Custom tap handles will also be awarded to the gold medal winners of each judging table.

There will be an after party this year at Vallenson’s Brewing from 7:00 pm until close.  That gives our volunteers a chance to clear the hall and move the party just down the street.  Luckily for those out of towners, there is a Holiday Inn Express right next door.
